Why do investors choose to work with independent, registered investment advisors?
In many cases, people become so busy with their own careers, family responsibilities, recreational activities or simply enjoying retirement, they find it difficult to spend the time to do a thorough job investing by themselves. In the fast paced, ever changing economic world, markets can move swiftly in reaction to news events of the day. Many wealthy individuals find it less stressful and enjoy better results deferring the day-to-day investment decision-making process to an experienced team of professionals.

Why should I hire Pring Turner Capital to manage my portfolio?
The three managing partners at Pring Turner (Martin, Joe, and Tom) have more than 110 years of combined experience in the investment business. We provide a professional, disciplined approach to wealth management. Working individually with clients, we develop a set of personalized investment guidelines designed to meet their unique goals. Based on those guidelines we continuously monitor and adjust client portfolios. Our clients appreciate the peace of mind knowing their wealth is being carefully managed by seasoned investment professionals.

Am I giving up control when I use a professional money manager?
In a sense you are actually taking more effective control of your finances. By taking the time to clearly define investment guidelines with us, you clearly set the agenda for portfolio management. You control the investment process through well defined guidelines established with us.

What is Pring Turner allowed to do in connection with your account?
As an investment advisor we are only authorized to place orders to buy or sell securities within each clients individual brokerage account. The custodian (brokerage firm, trust company) holds your assets separately, safeguards your account, facilitates securities transactions and sends confirmations, monthly statements, and year-end 1099 tax information directly to the client.

    Are portfolios managed exactly alike?
No! Each of our clients has their own special circumstances and goals that help to define a suitable strategy to meet their long-term needs. We manage to those specific client objectives taking into consideration multiple factors including tax, income, experience, comfort level, and any other relevant issues. Our investment advisory service is highly personalized.

    How has Pring Turner performed?
In order to judge performance properly investors should not only ask, “What is your performance?”--that is only half of the question. “How much risk did you take to generate that return?” is the most important question. Over several decades, through both good and bad market cycles, Pring Turner Capital Group has delivered attractive and steady returns with low risk.

What kind of record keeping does Pring Turner provide?
Besides receiving a monthly brokerage statement, clients receive a detailed quarterly statement and performance figures from Pring Turner. At the end of each year, clients with taxable accounts receive a thorough tax summary that includes capital gain/loss information and breakdown of all income and dividend payments. This consolidated statement is invaluable at tax preparation time. Our goal is to help keep your record keeping simple.

What types of client accounts do you manage?
Pring Turner clients have one goal in common; the protection and steady management of the wealth they worked so hard to accumulate. Many of our clients actually encompass several generations of a family including, grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren. We manage accounts for retirement plans and non-profit organizations including foundations and endowments that appreciate our disciplined, conservative investment style.

What is your minimum account size?
In order to maintain our intimate client/advisor relationship we add new clients selectively. Generally, our minimum is $1,000,000.

    Do you have references?
We are glad to furnish references from long time, established clients with similar circumstances to your own.

    How is Pring Turner compensated?
Our incentive based fee structure is designed to align our interests with clients. We do not receive compensation from commissions and strive to keep transaction costs low. The flat annual percentage fee is customized for each client based upon individual client’s funds under management.

How often can I expect to talk or meet with my advisor?
Our doors are always open. Clients are encouraged to contact us with any questions or to meet with us as often as needed. We understand that new clients often have many questions early in the relationship, so we are prepared to spend extra time with them. We pride ourselves in educating our clients to better understand our decision making process. We want our clients to feel comfortable with the management of their wealth.
