Tom began his career as a financial advisor at Dean Witter’s Walnut Creek office in 1981 and spent over two decades developing a conservative investment advisory strategy while at major Wall Street firms. During that time, he teamed up with Joe Turner, giving lectures and teaching investment courses together at adult education programs about investment management and financial planning in Walnut Creek. Ultimately Tom joined the Pring Turner fee-only investment advisory team in 2002. Tom’s strength is his old-fashioned style of helping clients understand the fundamentals of financial planning and navigate the investment world with confidence.
He is a career long investment advisor and educator, and as a highly rated speaker is regularly invited to share his knowledge and experience about investment management around the business cycle. Tom’s expertise and entertaining manner make him a favorite guest speaker at financial planning and retirement groups. Tom co-authored a book titled “Investing in the Second Lost Decade”, published by McGraw-Hill in 2012. Tom is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
